We've all heard that saying, but sometimes it's not until we see it manifest in our lives do we realize the significance of it. In beloved author Suzetta Perkins' new book HOLLYWOOD SKYE she allows us to see beyond the goals and ambitions of Skye Taylor and the road she travels to get what she wants.

Along the way Skye's hopes seemed to be dashed when her associations led her down a difficult path. She was betrayed and made to feel less than she is, but her saving grace comes in Henderson, a man who understand the costs of life in the fast lane and who sees Skye for who she really is and can be. HOLLYWOOD SKYE is one of those books that reminds us all that sometimes we have to lose everything in order to discover what really matters. It also reminds us that life can happen to any of us. What matters, however, is what we choose to do next.

Full of the kind of twists and turns and life lessons we have come to expect from Ms. Perkins, this is one of those books that is sure to rise to the top for readers. - Cyrus Webb

"These 5 Silver Sistahs are a true force to deal with. They may have some internal issues among themselves, but in the end that sisterly love and bond is so strong between them, that they have each others backs through thick and thin. They all experience everyday circumstances and issues that arise in their lives, but they all triumph over them. This book was a very good read for all, and a different read fromyour normal contemporary fiction. It was especially relatable for us readers in our silver years of life or approaching those years. The book lets you know that life happens, you pray about it, deal with it and kick your silver shoes to the sky and keep on moving! I also loved the book cover, which was very nice. This was the first book I read by Suzetta Perkins, and I will definitely be reading some of her other books. "  - DC Avid Reader

"Oh yes! Suzetta Perkins has done it again! This book kept me on the edge of my chair(as always) wondering what was going to happen next! I even took it to work with me because I couldn't put it down. As always, Suzetta brings these characters to life so much so that one would think that he or she is a part of the story. Even though I haven't reach my fifties yet, I definitely felt like I was a part of this group ofladies who lived their lives to the fullest! Great job Suzetta Perkins! "  - Margot Pittman

"Suzetta Perkins is a writer that can make a man feel right at home reading her fiction about 50-something year old women. Her story telling of women we all know in life who are living and enjoying life, might be 50 is the new 35. The women are sexy not only in looks, but also mentally confident in many ways. The demographic is sexy and classy and any man would like to have a chance to meet the characters. In many ways, Silver Bullets allowed me a man, to see into a world beyond the surface of the demographic that Suzetta Perkins wrote about in the book. I read the breaking down of the surface and stereotypical assumptions when you don't know afemale person(s) life Silver Bullets is great read, that is funny, smart, and well-written sexy conversations for a group that in these days and times is front and center and important in the world. Silver Bullets is a good book for all to read.Alvin L. A. Horn the author of the novels One Safe Place and Perfect Circle EbonyReader4Life

"I truly hope its Betrayed 2 you're working on. Enjoy the first one. You can't leave us wondering if Brenda has HIV. What happens to Trevor? Did John Carroll come between Mimi? Or did he hook up with Brenda? Did Sheila really marry Jamal. Had Stromal and Asia find anymore siblings? So you see, you must deliver part 2. I can't wait to read it. Thanks girlie for a wonderful book. Betrayed does not betray the reader of mystery, supense, romance, action, heroes, a villian and pain. Ms. Perkins you have out done yourself. You took me on an emotional roller-coaster!! Loved the Book.Teliza Walters

"I purchased "Betrayed" on kindle some time ago, but just got an opportunity to read it. IT IS A FANTASTIC NOVEL. You did a great job. And I didn't see the end coming with Trevor (sad) or Shelia (great news). There is definitely a spin off book for Trevor (LOL). I will spread the word about Betrayed at all of the book club signings we have. Most of the ladies are looking for great books to read. I will also post a review on Amazon. Again, what a wonderful read. I'm sure you will have much success with the book.Yolanda

"Ms Perkins does not disappoint, because the women of the Ex-Files bicker about everything. Each is very opinionated and not afraid to tell what they think of each others actions. Through all the bickering, they remain very close friends. Apologies are made and accepted, then they move on. When needed, these women will drop everything to support each other during trying times. As the Ex-Files expands, some new members are welcomed with open arms and others force their way in, but they all get what they come for and that is support and friendships. Reading how the group comes togerher to support each other in their darkest moments will remind you that there is some good in everyone. Prayer, love and understanding can be just what the doctor ordered. Jeanette APOOO BookClub

"I just finished reading Ex-Terminator- Life After Marriage. First let me say I could not put it down. I was trying to read slower to make it last. I was there at the meetings. I smelled the smells. I tasted the food. I felt the joy and the pain. I was in the hurricane. I walked alone with Ashley. I saw the diamond rings. I heard the marriage proposals. I was with Denise in the hospital. Girl I was all over. I can't wait to see who gets married etc. And…. Once again just like in Love So Deep you leave me HANGING !!! . I can't take it. I need a sequel. You are my new Dorothy West, Zora, J California Cooper, Diane McKinney Whetstone, Sista Souljah.  I MUST READ. Please do a sequel to this I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENNED. Ok I'm better now. Just another one of your passionate fans. By the way my husband and I were married for 5 years. Divorced of 11. Remarried for 17. We just love it. Keep writing. "Even though it can be a liberating event, divorce is never easy. "EX-Terminator: Life After Marriage" follows five friends as they try to move past their divorces while dealing with the feelings of wasted time, what could have been, and just general failure. Seeking strength in one another, they find more than they expected in this deftly written, emotional novel. "EX-Terminator: Life After Marriage" is a fine piece of urban fiction, highly recommended to community library collections catering to themMidwest Book Review

"Déjà Vu is a well-crafted, thought-provoking, and suspenseful follow-up to Behind the Veil that has all the elements of an entertaining thriller – conspiracy, drama, mystery, and just a little sex and romance. This is an exquisitely written book with a fast-paced plot and intriguing twists. Suzetta Perkins’ excellent writing is precise and gripping as each chapter draws you in the next, relentlessly building to an unpredictable and satisfying conclusion. A literary standout, Déjà Vu should not be missedMarsha D. Jenkins-Sanders

"If the events in the final pages of “Behind the Veil” kept you wondering about the fate of the characters days after you finished the book then this sequel will answer all of your questions.  Perkins’ latest work ties up the loose ends in a jaw dropping, suspense-laden, and ultimately satisfying way.  You won’t be able to put it down.Emily M. "In this follow-up to Behind the Veil, Perkins continues the sordid, suspenseful tale of heroine Angelica Barnes. Five years after we last saw her, Angelica has just been released from prison, her reward for getting mixed up in ex-boyfriend Robert Santiago's illegal activities. Angelica returns to Fayetteville, N.C., but desperate for a change, moves to New York to stay with a distant cousin-in-law; before long, however, she runs into Santiago and finds not only that she can't escape her past, but that she's drawn her loved ones into a dangerous situation. An enjoyable, sexy thriller, this sequel doesn't require familiarity with the first volume to follow or enjoy. (Aug.) .Publishers Weekly, 6/15/2009

"A Love So Deep is a heart-warming love story between a man and a woman. It is a story of a friendship between two men. It is also a story about new and unexpected beginnings. The images are vivid, and I could feel the cold crisp morning, I smelled the Chivas at the Water Hole, I could feel the music at the church, and I could taste the meals Sis. Mary Ross prepared. You might forget what someone says, but you always remember how it made you feel. A wonderful read. .Doris Rose

Set mostly in Oakland, California, she introduces her readers to an array of colorful characters with serious issues: grief, betrayal, obsession, jealousy, trust, truly testing the healing power of faith and prayer!Angela Reid
