Suzetta Perkins is the author of seventeen suspense novels and one children’s book. She is a native of Oakland, California and resides in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Suzetta’s first published work appeared in her 1970 high school yearbook, as its first black co-editor. She is also a contributing author of My Soul to His Spirit, an anthology that was featured in the June 2006 issue of Ebony magazine, which won the Fresh Voices award. Her novels include Behind the Veil, A Love So Deep, Ex-Terminator: Life After Marriage, Deju vu, Nothing Stays the Same, Betrayed, At the End of the Day, In My Rearview Mirror, Silver Bullets, Hollywood Skye, Two Down: The Inconvenient Truth, Free to Love, What’s Love Got to Do With It, Stormy, The Magic of Christmas, Dirty Bones, Fallen Leaves, and newly released, Black Diamond.
Reading and writing has always been in her blood, having written many short stories in her early years that were never published. With a vivid imagination, Suzetta says that writing allowed her to use her imagination to soar beyond the four walls of her room creating characters, places in time, colorful images of life that she captured on paper.
Suzetta has an Associates in Applied Science from Fayetteville Technical Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Fayetteville State University. Now retired from Fayetteville State University, Suzetta is a mentor for aspiring authors through the Literary Ink Life Group sponsored by Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
